Barangay Luz, Cebu City, officially kicked off the 16th edition of its annual Bayanihan Festival today, October 7, 2024, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia.
First launched in 2008, the week-long celebration runs from October 6-12, featuring:
- Free medical and dental services
- Night market
- Nightly activities
Barangay Captain Renato Labrador explained that the festival is named “Bayanihan” to reflect the strong community involvement in preparing for the barangay fiesta on October 12.
Also present at the opening were Councilor Joel Garganera, Congresswoman Rachel “Cutie” Del Mar, and ABC President Franklyn Ong, showing full support for the festivities.
