Barangay Luz Joins Forces with Station 4: Stakeholdersโ€™ Meeting on Curfew Ordinance Enforcement

YESTERDAY HAPPEN โ€ผ๏ธ

Stakeholders’ Meeting on Curfew Ordinance Implementation

๐Ÿ“ Held at Mabolo Police Station 4

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Attendees: Station 4 Commander Police Major Eric Gingoyon, Barangay Captain Titing Labrador, Councilor Carl Arnoco, and internet/computer shop owners within the jurisdiction.

During the meeting, the primary focus was the enforcement of Cebu City Ordinance No. 1786, also known as the Curfew Ordinance, which strictly prohibits minors (below 18 years old) from staying out in public or being present inside establishments such as computer or internet shops from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, unless they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

๐Ÿ“Œ Key Highlights:

Any computer shop caught accommodating minors during curfew hours will face immediate business closure as per the ordinance.

This move aims to protect minors from engaging in or being exposed to illegal activities, online gambling, or other unsafe environments during late hours.

The ordinance applies regardless of gender or reasonโ€”all minors are covered.

โš ๏ธ In line with this enforcement, the Barangay Luz Council is now studying a proposed Executive Order that would mandate all computer shops within the barangay to operate only until 10:00 PM, even for adult customers. This proactive approach aims to:

Minimize opportunities for illegal activities late at night,

Promote peace and order,

And strengthen coordination between barangay officials, local police, and the business sector.

This collaboration reflects the shared goal of ensuring youth safety, community discipline, and responsible business practices.

Let us work together to build a safer community for all.
